I've largely come to peace with the damage I'm assuredly doing myself via alcohol.

Well... alcohol in moderation can increase your quality of life too; which intuitively could increase your life span.  Conclusive studies or not.  So keep drinking...just not too much.

I don't know what the big deal is about eating guidelines, calories and health.  I eat anything and everything as much as I want and 30 years later I'm still the same weight I was in college.

327 pounds.

FYI:

Fat-free milk (aka nonfat milk, skim milk, skimmed milk) can contain up to one-half of one percent milkfat or butterfat (same thing).

Lowfat milk: 1% milkfat.

Reduced fat milk: 2% milkfat.

"Whole" milk: 3.25% up to 4% milkfat (most states specify 3.25%).

Producer milk: 8% to 10% milkfat (straight from the cow, includes cream).

Your average brie cheese: 60% butterfat.

Brie is a complete protein, by the way (according to NitritionData.com), with 21 grams of high quality protein per 100 grams of cheese.

Apparently many cheeses are complete proteins.  (Who knew?)

Apparently many cheeses are complete proteins.  (Who knew?)

Clarification:

When I said that brie was a "high quality" protein, I was only referring to its amino acid content, which is comparable to that of chicken breast meat.

However, all cheeses have extremely high fat content (and sodium, too) -- indeed, most of their calories come from fat -- so they shouldn't become mainstays of one's diet (however appealing that might be to some of us!).

Rather, cheeses should only be eaten occasionally, and only in very small amounts.  [sigh!]
