The goal of the agency is to create economic opportunity in Washington Heights and Harlem. CWCID sponsors the Neighborhood Trust Federal Credit Union where residents can open savings and checking accounts and obtain mortgage loans and other loans for local business ventures. The agency also has a bilingual Financial Literacy Education program that helps empower low-income residents in Upper Manhattan to take control over their financial lives.
