Volunteers Needed for Uptown Arts Stroll Opening Reception

7 June 2004

Community Board 12 needs volunteers to help set up for the Uptown Arst Stroll Opening Reception this Wednesday, June 9th, in the Highbridge Recreation Center (located at West 173rd Street and Amsterdam Avenue). Please e-mail all responses to Martin Collins at mcollinsnyc@yahoo.com.

Set-up begins at 1:00 p.m. that day, and volunteers are welcome anytime after that hour — stop by the recreation center if you wish to lend a hand. Also, they need to borrow a few more coolers. If you have one to loan, please leave it at CB12 (711 West 168th Street, Ground Floor, enter at Haven Avenue).

If anyone wants to help pick up food between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9th, please let Martin know. Some restaurants are within walking distance of Highbridge, others we’ll need to pick-up their tray by car, so if you can help, let Martin know.

Finally, handicap-accessible shuttle bus locations (20 stops in WH-I) need to be flyered. They will pick up folks during the Uptown Arts Stroll the weekend of June 12-13. Stops range from 155th to 207th streets. Flyers are available in the CB12 office starting today Monday.

Any assistance welcome!
