Volunteers Wanted for Doula Training (for the Elderly)

This summer, Isabella Geriatric Center will offer an opportunity to train for this special position.

What a Doula does:
* provides friendship
* assists with everyday practical needs
* speaks up for a person who has trouble talking
* offers emotional, social and spiritual support
* enhances a person’s comfort and dignity
* serves as a caring companion

To be a Doula candidate, you must:

1. Complete a Doula Training Program — 8 sessions, 2 hours each (provided at Isabella in the early evening).

2. Be willing to provide ongoing support to one individual.

3. Have a desire to work in end-of-life care.

4. Complete the Isabella Volunteer Orientation.
