Welcome to the new WaHI Online

The Guide to Washington Heights & Inwood has graduated to a more extensive online community — Washington Heights & Inwood Online. This new and improved Web site hopes to be the most comprehensive source of information and most useful tool for residents of Northern Manhattan. Its mission is to encourage communication, empower our citizens, and help build community.
This Web site started out as a simple resource list for residents of NaBors Apartments, the co-op where Eduardo Gómez, WaHI Online’s Webmaster, has lived since 1998. In November 2002 he decided to make the list available to a wider audience and purchased the washington-heights.us domain to house it. The list grew quickly to a database of more than 250 community resources. More recently, he realized that there existed no comprehensive online community devoted to Washington Heights and Inwood. So he set out to create one. This is the result.
The resource list is now only one of several sections of WaHI Online. The site has expanded to include new features to make it more useful to our community and to others who want to learn about our neighborhood: History, News, Events Calendar, Discussion Forums, and Photo Gallery.

I think this a great sight. We moved to Hialeah, Florida 8 years ago, but we are always remembering all the great places, historical and the like, so now when i feel melancholic i have this great websight to make me feel alive!!! thank you and wishing you great success!! i especially enjoyed the photo gallery!
